Metal Prices

What’s happening with the price of metal and other construction materials? Since the new administration took office, let's be honest—the economy has taken a hit. The effects of COVID, backed-up cargo ships in the Suez Canal, and skyrocketing raw material costs have all contributed to the current situation.

Right now, we're seeing a significant increase in metal prices. Since November 20th, the cost of our raw materials has doubled. According to our metal suppliers, this trend is expected to continue through the end of the year.

Despite these challenges, we’ve maintained our current pricing on our metal signs and haven’t raised prices. However, we've had to stop offering shipping discounts, as this crisis has also impacted our shipping costs. UPS has raised shipping rates across the board, and unfortunately, these rising costs are being passed on to the consumer.

We’re often asked by savvy shoppers if we offer coupons or discounts. For now, we’ve had to limit most of these discounts in order to keep our pricing stable. We apologize for this, and we hope the situation improves soon.

Our flat rate pricing on our website, hdmetalworks.com, covers the shipping cost of a 16-inch sign within the U.S. It doesn’t fully cover the shipping cost of larger signs, but for the time being, we are absorbing those additional fees. If you’re interested in one of our crosses, shipping costs are usually under $5. Feel free to contact us directly for a more accurate shipping price. Unfortunately, our website platform, Squarespace, doesn’t allow us to easily reflect the varying shipping costs for different-sized boxes.

We appreciate your understanding during this time and hope this clarifies the current challenges we’re facing.
